Graeme Souness was full of praise for Raphinha following his match-winning contribution for Leeds United against Everton.
The Brazilian winger scored his first goal since joining Leeds from Rennes to give Marcelo Bielsa's men a 1-0 victory at Goodison Park on Saturday evening.
Raphinha fired past England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford from the edge of the box in the 79th minute and that proved enough to secure all three points.
“He’s a flair player but works his socks off," Liverpool legend Souness told Sky Sports. "I think there’s a goal in him. There’s lots to like about him.
"He’s one of those players, because he runs with the ball, apart from having ability, he works very hard when they don’t have the ball.
"We talk about players coming to our football, players like him - the flair players - sometimes they need a bit of time to settle into our game, but he seems to have got it right away.”
On the goal itself, fellow pundit Tim Cahill said: “Everton will be disappointed with how they’ve conceded this.
"It’s gone through the legs of [Ben] Godfrey. Pickford can’t see it, but it’s a great strike.
"I think he [Godfrey] has tried to make himself big. He thinks he’s safe, it’s not gonna go through his legs, but that’s the thing in football.
"You’ve got to block that and it’s a bit of luck, but it’s a great strike.”
Souness also hailed Luke Ayling and man-of-the-match Kalvin Phillips, though set a challenge for the latter.
“If you don’t put a shift in, you won’t be in that starting XI," Souness added.
"Ayling’s got ridiculous energy. I like Phillips, he’s got a good range of passing, he never seems to get flustered when he’s receiving the ball under pressure, in his defending third - he doesn’t panic.
"He very rarely gives it away. There’s a lot to like about him, but one criticism is not getting enough goals, shots on target.
"He’s a lovely striker of the ball. Just by following play in when you’re on the front foot, whoever they play - including Liverpool - they have the majority of the possession.
"So that would tell you that he should be following play in his position, getting around the box.”
