The Rangers snapshot that proves Kemar Roofe was onside as big VAR call explained

Rangers looked to have received a bit of good fortune as Kemar Roofe tapped the ball into the net.

Alfredo Morelos was denied against Brondby in the Europa League, before the Jamaica cap helped himself to the easiest of finishes.

However, the goal was flagged offside almost immediately with the Ibrox attacker looking to narrowly be in an offside position.

Even Roofe himself seemed to give up on the chance that it would be allowed, with a muted celebration as the Danish champions protested.

However, second look footage shows that the Rangers man was onside - just.

The standing position of the last Brondby defender narrowly player the Ibrox attacker on at the key moment.

While Roofe's shoulder appeared to be in an offside position due to his head and shoulder beating the line, the key snapshot below from BT Sport shows why the goal was correctly given.

It was marginal, but Steven Gerrard 's men won't be complaining.

It put the Premiership champions in cruise control going into the break.
