The Rangers lesson Steven Gerrard has learned as we go behind the scenes in Dubai

Celtic and Rangers are both making use of the same training facility in Dubai as they look to return from the winter break in top condition for the second half of the season.

The final match of 2019 saw Steven Gerrard 's side close the gap at the top of the table to just two points, with a game in hand still to play.

Our men Gary Ralston and Craig Swan have been watching developments in Dubai closely, with the Gers aware that they beat Celtic in December 2018 only to fall off badly after the winter break.

On Saturday Rangers will take on Lokomotiv Tashkent in a friendly as they aim to avoid repeating the mistakes of last winter.

Gary said: "They have spoken about that.

"I think a part of the reason they didn't start well is because there was that farce of the Scottish Cup game at Cowdenbeath that was postponed.

"So I think they went into the second half, that crucial Kilmarnock game, I think they went in there a wee bit undercooked.

"I just wonder if that's why Steven Gerrard has decided to take the game on Saturday for players to get 45 minutes."
