The Rangers dressing room reaction after Alfredo Morelos finally broke his Celtic duck

Scott Wright admits the Rangers dressing room was "buzzing" after Alfredo Morelos broke his Celtic duck.

The Ibrox star registered a first derby goal in 15 attempts to secure a 1-1 draw for the Premiership champions on Sunday.

Steven Gerrard 's side fell behind to Moi Elyounoussi's header before Morelos turned in at the back post following Leon Balogun's flick-on at a corner.

The Colombian's struggles in front of goal in the fixture have been well-documented and he himself celebrated by letting off smoke bombs in the garden with his wife on Sunday afternoon.

And Wright revealed his team-mates were equally jubilant with their talisman's strike.

He said: "Everybody is buzzing for (Alfredo). He has a great mentality and as a striker, he obviously wants to score goals - we all know that.

"He hadn't scored in an Old Firm, but it is not something he had thought about - he just wanted to play his game and we are delighted for him that he has managed to get his goal today."

Wright's appearance as a second-half sub was his first in the derby following a January move to Rangers from Aberdeen.

And the forward insists he's grateful Gerrard trusted him to make an impact with the match finely poised.

Wright added: "It is great that he has got that faith in me and I think it is something you really work hard for is that trust from the manager.

"All I can do is to keep working hard at the training ground and to work hard in games when I get the minutes and try to repay that trust.

"It is a great game to be involved in, but it is a game we want to come and win and get three points and a clean sheet.

"Something we pride ourselves on is clean sheets - you have seen that through the season but unfortunately we haven't done that today and we are disappointed to come away with a draw."
