Premiership winners Rangers have been busy operators in the months following their top flight coronation.
Jermain Defoe's one-year extension this week makes him the latest to join the plethora of players who have committed their immediate futures to the champions over the last few months.
Captain James Tavernier has led by example by signing an even longer contract.
And manager Steven Gerrard clearly isn't prepared to allow myopia to set in after such a storming campaign.
The focus turned to next season almost immediately with a number of key players putting pen to paper long before trophy day in mid-May. To borrow a phrase from US sports, they're 'running it back' in the hopes more success like the undefeated title will follow.
But the Ibrox boss still has a few contract causes for concern.
There remain several big names yet to join their team-mates in signing on the dotted line and clubs across the UK and possibly beyond will be keeping a keen eye on those.

Contract extensions
James Tavernier
One month on from the weekend Rangers secured the title, skipper Tavernier added another two years to his stay in Glasgow to keep him until 2024.
And, boy, has he deserved it.
A double figure haul in both goals and assists in 2020-21 culminated in the number two lifting the Premiership trophy high into the air, capping his Gers journey since joining under Mark Warburton in 2015.
Leon Balogun
The Nigeria cap was signed on a one-year deal to provide cover after a long-term injury sustained by Nikola Katic at the back.
He impressed on his debut at Aberdeen a week after signing and quickly struck up an understanding with Connor Goldson at the heart of defence.
At 32 he won't have too many years left in him but signing on for a further season made sense for all parties.
Allan McGregor
He's fortunate to have one of the best Rangers defences he's ever played with in front of him but veteran keeper McGregor has been there to bail out his team when the blue wall is breached.
He produced some jaw-dropping saves including a fingertip stop against Celtic and the seemingly impossible effort at Slavia Prague.
Getting another season out of the SPFL Player of the Year was a no-brainer for Gerrard and the backroom team.

Steven Davis
Midfielder Davis redefined the term "rolling back the years" in the season just passed.
Named the Scottish Football Writers' Player of the Year, his passing ability and work-rate shone through and despite turning 36 on New Year's Day he looks like he could go on for a while yet.
Davis is sticking around for 2021-22 and his overhead kick to down Celtic in the Scottish Cup tie delighted fans, while he was also over the moon to smash Peter Shilton's record for the most-capped British player after turning in his 126th appearance for Northern Ireland.
Jermain Defoe
The main loose end in terms of expiring contracts was tied up on Tuesday with the news 38-year-old striker Defoe is ready to play his part in the title defence next term.
While Gerrard has had to manage the load this season - his omission from the Europa League squad being a prime example - he's still got plenty to offer and pitched in with seven goals in 20 appearances.
Defoe has long spoken of his desire to have a swan song in front of an Ibrox crowd and he should get his wish while he's beginning a transition into coaching at the same time.
Still to sign
Connor Goldson - expires 2022

The rock of Rangers' record-breaking defence, Goldson's rise in the last 12 months has been nothing short of incredible.
Gone are the mistakes such as the one that let David Moyo in to score as Hamilton shocked Rangers on their own patch in March 2020.
In their stead is another leader at the back with a new-found penchant for effective long balls.
Few players if any contributed more to making sure the champions saw out the entire league season undefeated and that's why it's crucial they are able to tie him down for longer.
Scott Arfield - expires 2022
Essentially a signing that Gerrard inherited, it's certainly worked out well for the boyhood Gers fan.
Three seasons later he's accomplished his dream but there's no certainty over the 32-year-old's future just yet.
Glen Kamara - expires 2023
Not an immediate concern but surely Gerrard would love to get the Finland international tied down for longer given the Premier League sharks are already said to be circling.
It will have to wait until he's finished with his Euro 2020 duties this summer but the former Dundee man has belied his famously affordable price tag to turn in some brilliant performances.
The midfielder said in March: "There's been some talks. The season's been good, obviously we've just become champions. It's been a success so far.
“I still have two years left on my contract and there's still time over the summer to see what will happen."
