The Range store set to open in Glasgow retail park

Home, garden and leisure retailer The Range is opening up in a new location in Glasgow.

Planning permission has been granted for a second store, in the west of the city, at Great Western Retail Park - the retail park is found just off Great Western Road in Drumchapel.

The Range already have one other store in Glasgow, on London Road in the east end.

M8 overnight roadworks: week-long Charing Cross closures

Glasgow City Council's planning department has given the green light for the new store, a 4,645 square metre retail unit, with an on-site garden centre.

Meanwhile, planning permission has also been granted for two small cafe and restaurant units.

Permission was originally sought for upper floor leisure space too, however this has since been removed from the proposals.

Documents submitted on behalf of Kier Property Developments in August 2018 said: "The proposed development will deliver long-overdue investment for the Drumchapel area. This is the one remaining area of land which remains undeveloped following the closure, over two decades ago, of the former Goodyear tyre factory."
