Manchester City will not have to rely on quirky statistics to head into their Premier League game with Brentford as favourites - but Pep Guardiola and his star-studded team can fall back on one for good measure.
After returning from the international break with an FA Cup win over free-scoring Fulham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon, City will resume their latest title defence at the same venue tonight (7.45pm).
Brentford have defied the odds since winning promotion to the Premier League for the first time.
However, they are set to take on a side who have won 12 of their last 13 top-flight matches.
That staggering run has, seemingly, put Guardiola and his squad on a procession to their fourth English crown in the last five seasons, but Liverpool continue to breath down their necks and will have two games in hand on City at the close of play tonight.
It means there will be added emphasis on any slip up with City able to extend their lead to 12 points.
If their overall Premier League form was daunting enough for the Bees ahead of their impending trip to the Etihad Stadium, though, then Danish coach Thomas Frank and his plucky Brentford players might want to divert attention from the calendar now.

That's because City have totted-up 17 straight wins when playing on a Wednesday night in the top-flight.
A run bettered only by Liverpool - who won 21 games held on a specific day of the week (Saturday) between 2018 and 2020 - the quirky City sequence included a 1-0 verdict over, you guessed it, Brentford during the corresponding fixture in west London this December.
