The Quinton Dunbar situation keeps taking interesting turns

In an otherwise quiet February week during a quiet period for the NFL calendar, the Washington Redskins got embroiled in the odd Quinton Dunbar situation.

Dunbar reportedly demanded a trade or release. Then it sounded like he would get a meet with the team.

And now it’s sounding like the whole situation might end up going away quickly.

In responding to another report, ESPN’s John Keim reaffirmed the initial demand for a trade by Dunbar.

Keim then suggested the whole situation could end up going away, perhaps if the two sides get together and actually get to talking instead of publicly posturing:

Which all makes sense. Dunbar had an elite season last year and perhaps wants to be paid as such. As outsiders, we can’t know how much contact he’s had with the new coaching staff.

But like the Trent Williams situation, there’s a gasp of hope that a presence like Ron Rivera can make it all right.

Things might already be trending that way.
