To work in the royal kitchen you have to be the best of the very best.
Top chefs from around the world have to constantly be on their A-game to ensure they serve up the best dishes for Her Majesty, as well as other members of the royal family.
And if a meal is not up to scratch, The Queen will let you know about it, with a little humour thrown in for good measure, The Mirror reports.
That's apparently what happened when the Queen once discovered something rather unwelcome in her salad.
The Monarch reportedly tore off a page from the comments book meant to be used to convey her appreciation - or distaste - to the chef in the kitchens.
She placed a dead slug on the page before writing 'I found this in the salad - could you eat it?' and sending it back to the kitchen, the Daily Mail's Weekend magazine reports.
But despite being head of state, the Queen is said to have a simple taste when it comes to food with one of her former chefs, Darren McGrady, revealing she likes "clean and simple" meals such as grilled Dover sole on wilted spinach.
She selects her meals from a red leather-bound book put together by the royal chef.
She marks her choices in pencil, crossing out dishes she doesn't want and writing in suggestions.
During the week she wakes at 7.30am and receives a cup of Darjeeling tea from her chambermaid, which she sips while listening to Radio 4’s Today programme.
At her breakfast table cereals are presented in Tupperware containers.
She also likes yoghurt, and marmalade on toast, sometimes tossing the crusts to her beloved dogs.
For afternoon tea, usually at 4pm, she takes a selection of sandwiches with the crusts cut off and cakes including chocolate, ginger and fruit cake.
McGrady, who worked as a royal chef for 15 years, said dinner would be game or fish from one of the royal estates, and the Queen loves white peaches from the greenhouse at Windsor Castle.
She is not thought to cook for herself but she’s said to be more than happy to help with the washing up.
