The Queen's heartfelt gesture to Kate and Prince William for his 40th birthday

The Queen's heartfelt gesture to Kate Middleton and Prince William as he celebrates his 40th birthday has been revealed.

Her Majesty will reportedly host a joint party this summer for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge after Kate's 40th birthday bash back in January had to be cancelled due to Covid restrictions.

The couple are said to be looking forward to "celebrating in style". It is expected that the event will be held at Sandringham or Windsor Castle.

Many members of the royal family are set to attend, including William's father Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, alongside his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, Birmingham Live reports.

His milestone birthday comes in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee year and, mirroring his grandmother's commitment to duty and service, he has vowed to continue to raise the issue of homelessness in an article for the Big Issue.

"So, for my part, I commit to continue doing what I can to shine a spotlight on this solvable issue not just today, but in the months and years to come," wrote the duke who is the magazine's cover star along with Mr Martin.

He added: "And in the years ahead, I hope to bring George, Charlotte and Louis to see the fantastic organisations doing inspiring work to support those most in need - just as my mother did for me."

William and Kate will reportedly relocate this summer, and head to a new property on the Windsor estate just a stone's throw from the monarch, who is now aged 96.
