The Queen, Jodie Comer and more British talent make Vogue's leading ladies list

The Queen heads up a prestigious list celebrating the most influential women of the year.

Her Majesty, 96, who made a rare public appearance to open a hospice building yesterday, made The Vogue 25, recognising her 70 years on the throne.

She is joined on the list by Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe who returned to the UK from Iran after being jailed on spying charges.

Paying tribute to daughter Gabriella, Nazanin said: “When I had thoughts this was never going to end, her love brought me back to life.”

Other people to be recognised include PinkPantheress, the 21-year-old South London singer who won the BBC Sound Of 2022 title and Baroness Valerie Amos, who this year became the first Black knight or lady companion.

Victoria Beckham was honoured for services to fashion. Actresses Jodie Comer and Emma Thompson got nods.

Union leader Sharon Graham and chef Olia Hercules made the list too.

Emma Raducanu made the list for becoming the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles tennis title in more than four decades.

Other mentions include Partygate investigator Sue Gray and late bowel cancer campaigner Deborah James.

Opening the new £22million home of the Thames Hospice in Berkshire, the Queen saw the funny side when Graham White’s phone rang as she was talking to his wife Pat, who has stage 4 cancer.

The Queen said: “Typical, a phone goes off immediately.” Graham, 67, later said: “That was a bit embarrassing.”

Pat, 63, joked: “I could have killed him. People think the Queen is all stiff upper lip but she has a sense of humour.”
