The Queen had quiet word with Meghan Markle who was 'upset' at tasting 'egg in dish'

The Queen reportedly once took Meghan Markle "to the side" after she allegedly got "upset" because she could taste egg in a meal she'd been served.

According to royal author Katie Nicholl, the alleged incident happened when Meghan was sampling food for her 2018 wedding.

She'd been told the food she was tasting was egg-free, but insisted she could taste it.

Her reaction prompted a quiet word in the ear from her future grandmother-in-law.

Speaking to Yahoo's Royal Box, Ms Nicholl said: "Meghan got very upset when she felt that she could taste egg in a dish when she was told there was no egg in there, and she said, 'No, I can taste it, I can taste there's egg in this dish.'"

Ms Nicholl went on to reveal that the Queen walked in on the incident and "quietly took Meghan to the side", reports the Daily Star.

It is reported that Her Majesty supposedly told Meghan that the Royal Family does not speak to people "like that".

The couple would go on to marry in 2018 before officially exiting the Royal Family in 2020.

They now live in California and have been signing major deals with global brands including Netflix and Spotify.

On Thursday, a spokesperson for the couple’s foundation Archewell confirmed Meghan’s long-awaited podcast on Spotify would be released in the summer.

Fans of the Duchess of Sussex have been waiting almost two years for new content from Archewell Audio on the streaming platform.

The last podcast produced for Spotify was a Holiday Special in 2020 featuring Sir Elton John and other celebrities.

Earlier today we reported that the new patron of the National Theatre has been confirmed as the Duchess of Cornwall.

The role was previously held by Meghan Markle, who was forced to give it up when her and Prince Harry's exit from the Royal Family was made official.

The role has reportedly been a source of tension between Meghan and Camilla.

In 2019, when Meghan was handed the role by the Queen, Camilla was said to very disappointed.
