The public toilets that will be open in Nottinghamshire when lockdown is eased on Monday

If you're planning a trip to Nottingham city centre or town to hit those non-essential shops when they re-open on Monday there's one important issue you don't need to worry about on top of all the social distancing rules.

Toilets at cafes offering takeaway and shops remain closed but public toilets are starting to reopen which is good news for anyone waiting in what is predicted to be a very long queue outside Primark.

To coincide with shops reopening the staffed public toilets in Greyhound Street will also be back open on June 15 from 9am to 5pm.

Customers will be asked to enter via Smithy Row and exit onto King Street. Anyone spending a penny will also be expected to use hand sanitiser provided at the entrance.

Toilets and baby changing facilities on the upper floor of intu Victoria Centre will also reopen that day.

A spokesman said: "Restrictions will be in place to help keep people safe. They will also be closed at regular intervals throughout the day for short periods to allow for extra cleaning."

Facilities in Bulwell will also be reopening, with hand sanitiser provided, and a one-in, one-out arrangement, from 10am to 2pm, Monday to Saturday.

Automatic cleaning toilets in Spondon Street in Sherwood, on Victoria Embankment, and at The Forest Park and Ride have remained open throughout lockdown.

Public toilets in Beeston, Kimberley, Eastwood and Stapleford have been closed since the start of lockdown.

A Broxtowe Borough Council spokeswoman said: "We plan to open them on Monday in line with the shops opening. This is on the basis of us putting measures in place to make them Covid-secure."

The council-run toilets next to Alfresco Caffe at West Park, in West Bridgford town centre, and Eaton Place in Bingham, have been open for a number of weeks now - and rest assured, a spokesman for Rushcliffe Borough Council said: "Teams are cleaning the sites more regularly in line with government advice on these facilities."

However, it's a different story over in Gedling, where the council said: "The public toilets in the town centres won’t be open on Monday due to the government social distancing guidelines."

Mansfield District Council’s public toilets at the Four Seasons shopping centre have remained open every day from 9am to 3pm and have been free to use throughout the coronavirus emergency measures.

But from Monday June 15, they will stay open an hour later until 4pm.

The facilities at the Old Town Hall remain closed, due to ongoing renovation work at the premises.

Toilets are also open at Rose Lane, Mansfield Woodhouse, and High Street, Warsop from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday.
