The pub that hangs up all the bras women have left behind on a night out

A popular night spot in a Welsh city centre has decorated its bar with bras left behind by patrons over the last few months.

The owner of El Siecos , found on High Street in Newport , said it all started with one customer. Since then the strange trend has grown and grown.

Ashley Sicolo opened the bar in May 2018 in homage to his late grandfather's famous music venue, TJs.

He explained that it all started back in October last year and the display has affectionately become known as the "cocktail bra".

"It started off with a customer who randomly took her bra off and demanded we hung it over the TV - on show to the customers - as a way to feel part of Siecos," said Ashley.

He added: "So every time she came in she would write on it; 'Queen of Siecos' until there was no more space, and it just went from there.

"We had to start hanging them up as we just had no space, the 'cocktail bra' has become one of our attractions."

"The donations from customers just keep building," Ashley adds with a laugh.

"Groups of girls find it funny on nights out; I did remove them once, I thought 'this is getting out of hand'.

"Then the customers demanded they go back up."

The display at El Siecos, which has "Port and Proud" displayed around the venue, plays on being a "proper Newport bar," according to Ashley.

El Siecos sells a wide range of Newport-themed cocktails, including; a Pill Colada, Busk Along the Usk, Docks on the Rocks, Port and Proud, Bettws Bhangra, The Amber Army, and The Tasty Transporter.

The bar was launched as a music museum, showcasing memories and memorabilia of gigs and events that were held in TJs over the years.
