The PSG transfer decision that could have a huge impact on Arsenal and Hector Bellerin

Paris Saint-Germain look set to turn to an alternative having failed to make a breakthrough in their pursuit of Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin.

The Champions League finalists have been pursuing Bellerin as they look to strengthen the right-back position, and there was talk Arsenal could cash in as they look to increase their transfer budget.

But it seems that option will now be taken away with PSG changing direction and turning to Roma right-back Alessandro Florenzi instead.

According to Sky Sports Italy, PSG are 'one step away from signing Florenzi'.

Thomas Partey boost as Houssem Aouar bid rejected - Arsenal rumours

That would suggest the French giants have ended interest in Bellerin, who could now stay put at the Emirates Stadium, despite interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Arsenal were said to be 'reluctantly willing to sell' Bellerin, so it may be bitter-sweet now that he is sticking around.

Mikel Arteta will be pleased to have the Spaniard at his disposal, but it does come at a price with no boost to the Gunners' transfer budget.

With three years remaining on his contract, Bellerin was set to depart for up to £35million.

If Arteta wants to boost his budget, it seems he may have to look at some other departures, and that may not be a problem with the likes of Sokratis, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi all linked with exits.
