The proud family behind the Harehills 'King of Samosas' cafe that wowed Nadiya and Fred

The Leeds business dubbed the “King of Samosas” secured its spot as one of Leeds' most popular cafes on BBC Two’s Remarkable Places to Eat.

Anand Sweets, in Harehills, appeared on the food programme hosted by Nadiya Hussian and Fred Sirieix this week.

And the family behind the beloved cafe - which has served Leeds for 21 years - shared their pride and excitement after their BBC2 debut.

Nadiya, who grew up in the east Leeds area, took the First Dates presenter to enjoy her favourite snacks at the business leased by the Chera family.

The business was founded and ran by Mr Anand and his family before the Chera family took over in 2019.
