The proof loaning Dani Ceballos will not be another waste of time like Denis Suarez

Dani Ceballos arrived in London this week to complete his season-long loan to Arsenal .

The Spanish midfielder signed from Real Madrid, and will perform for the Gunners at the Emirates for the entirety of the upcoming season.

However, despite his undeniable quality, some supporters remain unconvinced due to past loan deals undertaken by the London club , with the most relevant being Denis Suarez.

The Spanish attacker arrived from FC Barcelona in January, but managed to amass just 119 minutes, without scoring or registering an assist.

Ultimately, the move was rather pointless for every party involved, and there is concern among some fans that Ceballos will follow a similar theme.

Dani Ceballos Profile

Once delving into the two players, though, it's reasonable to suggest that Ceballos will be considerably more successful under Unai Emery than his fellow compatriot was.

Dani Ceballos vs Denis Suarez

Suarez arrived at Arsenal having accumulated just 290 competitive minutes for Barcelona that season, with only 1254 posted the season before.

Simply put, that isn't enough for a professional footballer in the modern day, and a consequence, Suarez will have been considerably more out of rhythm than his teammates once arriving in England.

Also, most of Suarez's minutes came as a substitute near the end of matches, meaning that he was largely able to take advantage of opposing teams once they were tired or had to chase the scoreline.

He appeared somewhat effective in his reduced time on the pitch for the Spanish champions, but that output was ultimately misleading.

On the other hand, Ceballos is three years younger than Suarez, and he has also been significantly more involved competitively.

Last season, the Madrid midfielder amassed 2512 minutes across various competitions, with a reasonable amount of those coming as a starter.

He also helped Spain to lift the Under-21 European Championship in Italy during the summer.

What's more, Ceballos has demonstrated an ability on the pitch that hasn't simply been masked by a lack of competition.

The midfielder scored five while assisting two, but crucially, he was able to have a notable impact on proceedings by controlling his surroundings.

The 22-year-old is reminiscent of Santi Cazorla in some areas, as he's highly technical, engages with his team's build-up play, and is able to progress the ball expertly by passing and dribbling.

He accumulated a total of 2212 passes last season, compared to Suarez who had attempted just 789 competitively in the 18 months prior to making the move to Arsenal.

As a consequence of Suarez's general lack of involvement before moving to the physically-demanding environment in England, the Spaniard picked up two injuries.

A muscle issue was followed by a groin problem, with Suarez simply unable to perform at the top level so quickly after moving.

Ceballos, however, aside from a minor sprained ankle in January, has remained injury-free for the past two years.

In addition, it's pertinent that beforehand, Barcelona wished to sell Suarez to the Gunners , compared to Madrid, who appeared intent on keeping Ceballos with a view to eventually integrating him into the strongest XI.

Overall, the concerns regarding Ceballos are normal, but his current situation is very different to Suarez's when he was transferred. The former is younger, fitter, and has considerably more rhythm at present than the latter, meaning that the transition to English football shouldn't be as hurtfully demanding.
