The Proclaimers on the way to Perth as part of 2022 tour

Perth music lovers won’t have to walk 500 miles to see Scottish rock icons The Proclaimers after they announced plans for a show in the Fair City.

The stop-off is part of the famous duo’s 2022 tour which marks the recording of their 12th studio album.

Famous for hits including I’m Gonna Be and I’m On My Way, twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid will perform at Perth Concert Hall on December 14, 2022.

They will also be making hearts fly at the Caird Hall in Dundee and the Alhambra in Dunfermline throughout November and December next year.

The brothers grew up in Auchtermuchty in Fife and first came to attention with their 1987 single “Letter from America”, which reached number three in the United Kingdom, and the 1988 single “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”, which topped charts in Australia, Iceland and New Zealand.

The Proclaimers have sold over five million albums worldwide.

The pair also inspired a play and film in 2013, Sunshine on Leith, named after their iconic album and song.
