Scotland are searching for a new manager following Steve Clarke’s shock resignation after their World Cup exit.
However, Ange Postecoglou is unlikely to take the role, according to Simon Jordan. Former Celtic boss Postecoglou has been installed among the early favourites for the Hampden vacancy, with Clarke stepping down just weeks after signing a new four-year deal.
Despite this, pundit Jordan believes the Australian would reject the job due to his own managerial ambitions. He told talkSPORT: “Unless he’s going to sacrifice some salary, then he’s not going to manage Scotland.

“He would be an interesting phenomenon. The players would probably elevate a little bit, but he’s still got the same materials to work with. The problem with Postecoglou is, in his own mind’s eye, he thinks he’s an elite manager.
“So with that in mind, he’s not going to want to manage Scotland because that’s not going to give him the outcomes he thinks he’s potentially entitled to.”
Postecoglou is among several names linked with the role, alongside David Moyes, John McGlynn and Scotland assistant Steven Naismith, as the SFA look to appoint a successor ahead of the Nations League campaign in September.
