The Premier League trophy finally came to Newcastle - on a bus tour

The Premier League trophy has finally come to Newcastle, almost 23 years since United fans were cruelly robbed of a title win.

Sadly, it isn't because Rafa's Mags have won the Premier League, or that the delayed VAR has ruled out Cantona's 1996 winner at St James' Park for just being unfair.

Fans were given a chance to see the famous trophy thanks to Coca Cola, who are sponsoring a tour around Britain.

The silverware was shown off in Newcastle on the Official Premier League Trophy Tour, which called at Times Square on Saturday.

Football fans were welcome to take photos with the trophy, awarded to the winners of England's top-flight.

Fans battled it out in a FIFA tournament, and got to try out commentary through ‘Take the Mic’.

Former Newcastle striker Shola Ameobii joined the event, taking part in a live Q&A and unveiling prizes for visitors.

Newcastle are back in action on Monday, when they take on Arsenal in London.
