The Premier League decision which bodes well for Leeds United ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Chris Kavanagh will referee Leeds United's trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon, which could mean good news for the visitors.

The Whites will be looking to bounce back from their 4-1 home defeat to Leicester City with a strong performance and result at Selhurst Park.

Marcelo Bielsa 's team were 2-0 down early on in Monday's match at Elland Road, and despite Stuart Dallas grabbing a goal back, the Foxes managed to score two more before the full-time whistle.

On Saturday, it will be another tough test for Leeds, but the Yorkshire-based side's form on the road has been better than their results at home so far this season.

Bielsa's team have one home win, but two victories away from home and could make it three on the bounce in the English capital at the weekend, after beating Sheffield United and Aston Villa recently.

The Whites' last defeat away from home in the Premier League was the seven-goal thriller at Anfield on the opening day of the season, where Liverpool edged the clash 4-3.

Palace's only home victory so far was an opening-day 1-0 win over Southampton back in September.

The referee for the game will be Kavanagh, who will take charge of a match involving Leeds for the first time this season.

In fact, the Whites have only ever lost one match when Kavanagh has been the referee, which supporters will be hoping is a good omen going into the weekend's clash.

With Kavanagh in the middle, Dan Cook and Sian Massey-Ellis will be the assistant referees, with David Coote as the fourth official.

VAR will be controlled by Mike Dean, with the assistant Video Assistant Referee being Ian Hussin.
