The Premier League assist record broken by Harry Kane in Tottenham's rout of Southampton

Harry Kane is at it again.

The Tottenham striker was superb in his side's comfortable win over Southampton earlier today, playing a part in all of Spurs' goals.

Kane got on the scoresheet, as he usually does, but he also assisted all four of Son Heung-min's goals.

And that takes him into unchartered territory with Opta spotting that the Spurs striker is the first player in Premier League history to assist the same player four times in one match.

He also becomes the first Englishman to manage four assists in one Premier League game and only the seventh of any nationality to manage it.

Kane only managed to assist two in the whole of last season, so he has already doubled his tally with that dominant performance against the Saints.

The previous six to manage four assists in one game were Emmanuel Adebayor, Dennis Bergkamp, Jose Antonio Reyes, Dusa Tadic, Santi Cazorla and Cesc Fabregas.

Kane, though, is the only man to assist the same player four times with Son the beneficiary, the South Korean putting in a superb display.

The win means Spurs now have their first three points of the season ahead of next week's meeting with Newcastle, who lost 3-0 to Brighton on Sunday.
