The post-lockdown Championship table that puts Cardiff City and Swansea City above Fulham, West Brom, Nottingham Forest and others

It's little more than a month since the 2019/20 Championship season restarted following a three-and-a-half month hiatus owing to the coronavirus pandemic.

And following the 46th and final round of fixtures of the regular season, both Welsh clubs in England's second tier are celebrating reaching the play-offs.

Cardiff secured fifth place by romping to a 3-0 win against Hull City while Swansea snatched sixth spot in dramatic fashion as they triumphed 4-1 at Reading, with Nottingham Forest losing by the same scoreline at home to Stoke to ensure Steve Cooper's men finished above Sabri Lamouchi's troops on goal difference.

The Swans will take on Brentford in the play-off semi-finals while the Bluebirds will battle it out with Fulham over two legs.

And it's fair to say the Welsh sides go into the play-offs in fine fettle.

Since the Championship resumed in June, Neil Harris' Cardiff have claimed 19 points from their nine post-lockdown fixtures while Cooper's men have taken 17 of the 27 points on offer.

It puts both south Wales clubs in the Championship's top five clubs when it comes to their form since the restart.

Champions Leeds United top the pile having taken 22 points from their last nine matches while Brentford are second with 21 points.

Then come Cardiff in third with 19 points since the resumption of the campaign, while Wigan - who have been relegated, subject to their appeal against a 12-point deduction - are fourth on 18 points.

And Swansea pipped promotion hopefuls Fulham to fifth in the post-lockdown table on goal difference with 17 points.
