The poignant moment Swansea City and Stoke City fans unite to honour fan who died after being hit by train

This is the heartwarming moment Swansea City and Stoke City supporters united to pay tribute to fan Kyle Griffiths who died after being hit by a train in London on Wednesday night.

Police were called to Earlsfield Station at 9.41pm on the night that Swansea played Charlton Athletic at The Valley.

An air ambulance and the London Ambulance Service also responded to the incident, but Kyle was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Tributes have poured in for Kyle - nicknamed "sweets" by team-mates at Kidwelly Town Amateur Football Club because of his sweet tooth - since his death.

And fans at the Liberty Stadium joined together with a round of applause in the 20th minute - to signify the young Swansea fan's age - during the in South Wales.

The home supporters also chanted "You Jack b******" in honour of the youngster.

On Friday, the Swans issued the following statement: "The club is devastated to hear that a 20-year-old Swansea City fan died on the evening of our fixture against Charlton in London.

"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time. We are waiting to be updated by the police on further details."

A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Earlsfield Station at 9.41pm on Wednesday night following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended but sadly a 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
