With the tournament having moved back to its original March slot for the first time since 2006, there were hopes from this side of the Atlantic that softer conditions could give the British contingent a chance around the Stadium Course.
It certainly seems to have worked, with Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy sharing the overnight lead as we move to the weekend at -12.
The Ryder Cup heroes have familiar company close behind, with Ian Poulter in the pack three shots behind.
After calm conditions on Thursday and Friday gave the players a chance to attack the course, conditions are expected to toughen over the weekend.
