The players Arsenal could offer Celtic as part of Kieran Tierney transfer

Arsenal are set to ramp up their bid to prise Kieran Tierney from Celtic in the next 24 hours.

The Gunners had a lowball offer of £15million kicked into touch by Parkhead chiefs last week but are set to return to the table with an improved package as Celtic hold firm on their £25m valuation of the player.

Reports south of the border suggest Arsenal are unwilling to match Celtic's price tag for Scotland international Tierney.

But they are confident of producing a deal which will convince the Hoops to part ways with the fans' favourite.

Any renewed offer is likely to involve cash and a player part-exchange.

And there's certainly plenty of talent at the Emirates which could interest Neil Lennon.

The most obvious name is Carl Jenkinson, the right back who has already been linked with the Scottish champions and who has been told he is free to find a new club.

The 27-year-old has made 70 top-team appearances for the Emirates club in five years and has an England cap to his name.

But whether that would be enough to convince Lennon that he is the man to replace Mikael Lustig in a problem position for Celtic remains to be seen.

If Jenkinson is not to Lennon's liking then there are plenty of other candidates the Gunners could use as bait for Celtic star Tierney.

Jordi Osei-Tutu, above, is another right back who could be offered as a sweetener. The 20-year-old was a mainstay in the Gunners' Under 23 league winning season last year and is described as a strong tackler and modern day full back with a wicked delivery.

Despite not yet having made a top team appearance he has been included on the bench twice for Premier League matches including at Manchester United.

Central defence is an areas where Celtic are eagerly seeking new recruits and giant Greek stopper Konstantinos Mavropanos could be an option.

The 21-year-old joined Arsenal 18 months ago from PAS Giannina for £1.8m and has made a total of seven top team appearances for the Gunners.

But his future is understood to be under consideration by Emery and again he could be seen as a tempting proposition for Celtic.

Emile Smith Rowe is another who could be used as a makeweight.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder is a regular for England Under 19s after helping the Three Lions win the U17 World Cup two years ago and could offer a new dimension to the Hoops' midfield.

He made six top team appearances last season despite his tender years. And he became the youngest payer since Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to score a competitive goal for the club when he netted in a Europa League clash against Qarabag, highlighting his goal threat from the middle of the park.

In terms of strikers then Eddie Nketiah has been suggested although if Celtic were to land the highly-rated 20-year-old in any form it would likely be on loan.

The frontman is reportedly being lined-up for a temporary switch to the Championship with Charlton Athletic at the front of the queue.

But Arsenal could be swayed into sending the England U21 international north of the border should it help in their pursuit of Tierney.

Despite his age Nketiah has top team pedigree having made 19 appearances, eight in the Premier League, and scored three goals.
