The player already in the Arsenal squad that can save Unai Emery millions in the transfer market

Arsenal defender Krystian Bielik could be the defender that Unai Emery is searching for in the transfer market, that is according to his assistant manager from last season, Johnnie Jackson.

The central defender impressed while on loan at the Charlton last season, playing 35 games in all competitions for the Addicks. The 21-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium during this summer's transfer window, with AC Milan said to be interested in the Poland U21 international.

The suggestion that the defender is set for another loan move away from the Emirates Stadium has been recently circulated, with a number of top Championship clubs reportedly pursuing a temporary deal for the Arsenal man.

With Bielik in defence, Charlton earned promotion from League One via a dramatic Play-off final victory, a loan move to a Championship club would be the next logical step in his development, but Charlton number two, Johnnie Jackson has insisted that Bielik is just as good as some of the defenders currently at Arsenal.

"It wouldn’t be a shock if Arsenal we’re strong in that position, " he wrote on his Twitter. "But in my opinion he’s easily as good as some of those in his position."

The Charlton man was replying to a Tweet that hinted that a loan spell in League One was not enough for Bielik to prove his worth to Unai Emery.

Though, when asked if a season in the Championship would be the right level for him during the 2019/20 season, Jackson replied: "Yes I would say so."

As well as impressing during the League One campaign, Bielik's stock rose during the U21 European Championships, where he played all three games for his country, scoring two goals.
