The plans for Pontypridd's popular Chain House restaurant after it closed suddenly

Popular Pontypridd restaurant The Chain House is set to undergo a big transformation, and you could be a part of it.

Back in 2018 the eatery opened its doors and proved very popular with locals and visitors alike, as it produced various delicious fine-dining dishes.

Since then it has opened and closed its doors, with FAB Burgers having recently operated there.

During this time the original owners decided to launch a new venture offering a local Sunday lunch service.

But, during the summer, the restaurant suddenly closed its doors and FAB stopped trading at the premises.

This week the original owners of Chain House confirmed FAB are no longer trading at the site and said they are now looking for new tenants to operate at the property and bring a new lease of life to the premises.

Chain House released the following statement on Wednesday: "Good Afternoon people of RCT!

"The Chainhouse (originals) here. It’s been a rocky couple of months to say the least.

"You probably recall that about a year ago we welcomed the new prospective owners Fab Burgers to Chainhouse as we pursued our Roast Dinner empire.

"Unfortunately, this has all gone a bit pear-shaped - well the new owners bit at least. Just to clarify they are no longer residing at the Chainhouse, and we wish them every success in the future.

"As some of you may already know, we invited a host of local businesses to pitch their ideas to us for a 12-month takeover. This invitation is open till 15th October."
