The places with the most violent attacks in Bristol

The latest police crime map reveals the areas of Bristol and South Gloucestershire worst-hit by violence and sexual offences in February.

The Home Office’s police.uk website lists 1,367 offences of this type across the city that month.

We have compiled the statistics to show the five areas with the most violent and sexual crime reports in February.

This crime category can include sexual offences such as rape and public exposure, as well as violent offences like assault and GBH.

Here are the five worst-affected areas of Bristol:

Hartcliffe and Withywood

The police ward with the most reports of violent and sexual offences in February was Hartcliffe and Withywood, with 81.

These were evenly spread across the area, with no particular hotspots.

There were three reports each near Brock Road's Morrisons supermarket, near Gateshead Close and near Silcox Road.

Old City Docks

The second worst-hit ward was Old City Docks, which includes parts of the city centre and harbourside.

Of the 66 violent and sexual offences reported in the area, there were five each near Farr’s Lane and near Anchor Road.

There were also four reports each for the areas around Anchor Road and Orchard Avenue.

Staple Hill and New Cheltenham

The police ward of Staple Hill and New Cheltenham saw 54 reports.

These included three near Victoria Street, three near Clarence Road and two near Nelson Road.

Stokes Croft and St Michael's

There were 45 reports of violent and sexual offences in Stokes Croft and St Michael’s.

Six of those were near Thomas Street, four near Armada Place and four near Lower Gay Street

Trinity

The Trinity ward, which saw 45 reports, covers parts of Easton, including the lower section of Stapleton Road.

There were three reports each near Seymour Road and near the pedestrian subway linking Easton Way with Stapleton Road.

Two offences were reported near the shopping area towards the bottom of Stapleton Road.

Other police wards

Other police wards with high numbers of violent and sexual crime reports were Patchway and Cribbs Causeway, with 44; Southville, with 44; Filwood, with 42; and Lockleaze and Easgate, with 42.

The police wards with the fewest reports were Clifton Down, with eight; Winterbourne, with six; and The Dings and St Philips Marsh, with four.
