The places in Greater Manchester where it's forecast to snow today - and when it's expected to fall

It was a weekend of torrential rain and strong winds as Storm Ciara battered Greater Manchester.

However weather warnings are still in force with snow and ice forecast by the Met Office in nine out of the region's ten boroughs on Monday.

Snow is set to fall on higher ground around Oldham and Rochdale - with the Met Office warning that roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.

Sleet is also forecast across other parts of Greater Manchester.

Oldham

The snow is expected to fall in the borough from 2pm.

2pm - Light snow, 2C, feels like -4C

3pm - Heavy snow, 1C, feels like -5C

4pm - Light snow, 2C, feels like -4C

5pm - Light snow, 2C, feels like -4C

6pm - Sleet shower, 2C, feels like -5C

7pm - Heavy snow, 1C, feels like -5C

Rochdale

Snow is forecast for Rochdale on Monday with particularly heavy spells.

It's expected to fall following heavy rain at 2pm.

3pm - Heavy snow, 3C, feels like -3C

4pm - Heavy shower, 4C, feels like -1C

5pm - Light shower, 4C, feels like -2C

6pm - Heavy shower, 3C, feels like -3C

7pm - Sleet, 2C, feels like -3C

8pm - Heavy rain, 3C, feels like -3C

Salford

While a yellow weather warning is in place by the Met Office for snow and ice, there is only sleet forecast.

Following heavy rain from 3pm, sleet is expected at 6pm - with a temperature of 3C that feels like -4C.

Light rain will continue throughout the rest of the day.

Trafford

There is a yellow weather warning in place for snow and ice.

Light rain is forecast from 2pm, and while a shower is forecast between 3pm and 4pm, the sun is expected to come out.

Showers will return in the evening.

Tameside

Although a yellow warning is in place for snow and ice, no snow is forecast for Monday.

It's expected to be overcast from 2pm with heavy rain at 3pm.

Light rain will retain throughout the evening.

Bolton

While a yellow weather warning is in place by the Met Office for snow and ice, there is only sleet forecast.

Following heavy rain from 2pm, sleet is expected at 3pm - with a temperature of 2C that feels like -3C.

Rain will continue throughout the rest of the day.

Wigan

There is no weather warning in place for Wigan.

But do expect heavy rain at 2pm with lighter rain to continue into the evening.

Despite the rain, the sun will shine between 3pm and 4pm.

Manchester

A yellow weather warning is in place for snow and ice in Manchester.

However there is none forecast for Monday.

Rain is expected from 2pm, with a similar outlook to Wigan.

While heavy rain is expected in the city at 6pm, the sun will come out between 3pm and 4pm.

Stockport

There's also a yellow weather warning for snow and ice in Stockport.

But for Monday, only rain is forecast.

Expect light rain from 2pm with heavy rain forecast for 6pm.

Bury

While a yellow weather warning is in place by the Met Office for snow and ice, there is only sleet forecast.

Following heavy rain from 2pm, sleet is expected at 3pm - with a temperature of 2C that feels like -4C.

Rain will continue throughout the rest of the day with a particularly heavy spell at 6pm.
