The Pitt star calls out ‘disrespectful’ theatregoers for disrupting Broadway show

The Pitt star Isa Briones has hit out at theatre audience members for disrupting performances with references to the hit medical drama.

Briones, 27, plays Dr Trinity Santos on the Emmy-winning HBO drama and took over from Sarah Hyland to play “Stupid Cupid” singer Connie Francis in the immersive Broadway jukebox musical Just in Time.

“Hey, hey, hey! Once again, Broadway is not a circus,” she wrote on her Instagram. “Do not yell whatever you want at the performers. Yelling ‘When are you going to finish your charts?’ before I sing “Who’s Sorry Now?” is f***ing disrespectful to the performers onstage and your fellow audience members. Y’all are p***in’ me off.”

She added: “Love and light and please remember you are occupying shared spaces and watching art.”

Briones, who made her Broadway debut in 2024 as Eurydice in Hadestown, kicked off her limited run in April as the late “Pretty Little Baby” singer and is expected to continue in the role through the spring.

Just in Time is a new musical production about the life of Bobby Darin and received six nominations at the 2025 Tony Awards, including best leading actor for Jonathan Groff in the role of Darin.

This is not the first time Briones’ show has been disrupted by fans yelling comments related to The Pitt. In April, a fan yelled “Dr Santos” at her during the show.

“Do not talk to the performers while they are performing on stage (unless you have been asked to). And don’t talk to me on stage and call me Dr Santos. I’m not Dr Santos. I’m not even Connie Francis. I am Isa Briones, one of the actors in the show you have paid to enjoy,” she had written on Instagram at the time.

The Pitt's first season premiered in 2025 to critical acclaim and became one of HBO’s most-watched series. The show’s first season received 13 Emmy nominations and won five awards, including best drama series and acting prizes for Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa.

Every season of The Pitt tracks a 15-hour stint in the heart of a busy Pittsburgh emergency room, with each episode focusing on one hour in the lives of the doctors and nurses being pushed to their limits.

The second season premiered in January 2026 and the show has been renewed for a third season, though without the involvement of fan-favourite character Dr Samira Mohan.
