The pink bus debate is a diversion from the real question

I have been waiting very patiently for some sense to be presented in relation to the Harriet Harman pink bus debate (A pink bus: patronising or giving women a profile?, 14 February). Can someone suggest an alternative women’s colour? According to a recent check, almost all colours are allocated to a range of political ideologies.

So why not let us be proud to be pink? Do not fall for the diversionary tactics away from a discussion that is urgently needed – about why young women don’t vote. I don’t remember anyone having a go at the idea of wearing pink for breast cancer fundraising, or ridiculing the millions of women who have worn pink in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life fun runs.
