Kieran Tierney's debut appearance was great news for him and everyone associated with the Gunners.
The full-back signed from Scottish champions Celtic over the summer, but faced a less-than ideal start to his career in north London as he looked to overcome a long-standing injury.
As a result, the 22-year-old has been working away behind the scenes as he underwent an intense rehabilitation programme before being eased back into full training with the first team squad.
Tierney's had company along the way in the shape of Rob Holding and Hector Bellerin who have both been on a similar schedule as the Scotland international, and after making his comeback against Wolves under-23s last week, it was time for Tierney properly announce himself as one of Arsenal's newest assets.
Despite it being his first competitive game in several months, Tierney looked very sharp in the Carabao Cup victory over Nottingham Forest, giving fans a glimpse of what's to come as he bombarded the Championship side with energy down the left flank and a flurry of dangerous crosses into the penalty area.
Clearly overwhelmed by his reception, Tierney posted: "Thank you so much for all your support... very grateful. Great feeling making my debut!"
Among the replies of the full-back's Instagram post were two of his Arsenal teammates.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are regulars on social media and the pair couldn't resist passing on their congratulations in their own unique way.
Aubameyang posted: "Yes my boy," while Lacazette replied with fire emojis and "Easy K".
They weren't the only frontmen to reply to Kieran Tierney's post either.
Among the other comments was Ian Wright who backed the full-back to be a success moving forward as he simply posted: "Only the start!"
We can only hope that his wonderful performance against Nottingham Forest is the first of many.
