It has been a year since M&S did a collab with London designer Bella Freud, but as of this morning (October 15), the wait is over.
The two British design heavyweights have teamed up once again for a 2025 edition — and if the early preview is anything to go by, it's set to sell out once again.
Freud's signature knits and tailoring usually sit around the £300 - £800 mark, but teaming up with Marks & Spencer brings down the RRP to a high street bracket, which explains the clamour behind the sales.
In 2024, some of the hottest pieces were the 'Divine Feminine' cashmere sweater (£139) and a sharp pinstripe suit (£218). Slogan totes were the friendliest purchase, financially speaking, costing just £15. Sizing was inclusive too, with knitwear spanning XS - XL, and dress sizes from 6 - 24, all serving to give the range broader appeal.
Can we expect the same this year?
Well, 2025's collection has 35 pieces to choose from across womenswear, lingerie, men’s, kids and home. Full of playful wit and undisputed coolness, expect pops of colour splashed over wool, silk, cashmere and velvet.
The concept is very much geared towards festive hosting, polished yet comfortable. Freud said of the collection, “You want to be a bit dressed up and feel glamorous, but you also want to feel at ease. At the centre of the collection is a velvet suit and around that, there’s wool and cashmere knitwear and silk shirts, to style it back with. I think the styling feels old school and glamorous — it's dressing down that’s dressed up.”
The best way to shop is online, as the collection will only be in limited branches of M&S stores. In London, these are: Battersea, Marble Arch, Kensington, King's Road, Stratford City London, Kingston, London Colney and Bluewater.
As someone who waited until midnight to get her pick of the collab last year, I couldn’t wait to see the new line. Turns out even shopping editors aren’t immune to the hottest fashion drops of the season.
Here’s what’s in my shopping bag.

M&S The Beauty Advent Calendar 2025

M&S has teamed up with designer Bella Freud for its 2025 beauty advent calendar. Housing 25 boxes, the black and gold packaging opens to reveal numbered boxes, each one containing a beauty-related treat. Brands include Color WOW, thisworks, Living Proof, Cowshed and more, with plenty of accessories (like a gua sha tool) in the mix too.
While some of the boxes feel a little underwhelming — does anyone really need another claw clip? — there is much joy to be found here too.
It’s a pricey buy on its own, but you can get it for £60 if you spend £35 or more on full-price fashion, homeware or beauty, so it's worth adding on if you’re picking up a few M&S bits anyway - Abha Shah
