The phone box that's been decorated with coronavirus themed accessories

Villagers in Nottinghamshire have decorated a phonebox in a coronavirus theme.

Residents of Orsten have covered the decommissioned red telephone box with a giant face mask and cartoon virus particles - known as virons - as COVID-19 continues to spread.

The phone box, in The Green, was found to be decorated in the virus-themed accessories on Thursday, March 12.

So far in Nottinghamshire there have been six confirmed cases and a further three in Nottingham city, bringing the total to nine.

One case has been confirmed to be in the town of Southwell, which has a population of around 7,500 people.

A Government COBRA meeting has taken place this afternoon (March 12) to determine what emergency measures should be put in place as the UK moves to the 'delay' phase.

The virus, now confirmed as an epidemic, has so far infected 590 people in the country, and a further 10 have died.

Bans of gatherings of more than 500 people may also come into place come Monday.
