The ‘Philly Special’ to be added to Madden 20 playbook

Nick Foles is no longer a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, but his legacy in the city and to the sport will live on for decades with this announcement from EA Sports. While a guest on Fran Duffy’s ‘Eye in the Sky’ podcast, Anthony White of EA Sports confirmed that the Eagles famous play, the ‘Philly Special’ or ‘Philly Philly’ as it was called in the Super Bowl, will be added to the Madden 20 playbook.

The play, which will go down in history as Nick Foles idea, was a never before run play, that saw Foles have the ball directly snapped to running back Clement. Clement went on to pitch the ball to Burton, who passed the ball to a wide open Foles to score a touchdown. With the score, Foles thereby became the first player in Super Bowl history to both throw and catch a touchdown.

The play helped the Eagles defeat the New England Patriots, 41–33.
