There are two certainties that follow the release of an obvious and clumsily manipulated image: you will be found out, and spoofs will appear. The Philippine government's department of public works and highways posted a photograph on its Facebook page of three officials apparently surveying the damage of the typhoon that hit Manila last week. The men had been there, just not at that spot – and presumably not floating in mid-air either. People's own versions started to appear, with the engineers appearing on the Beatles' Abbey Road album cover, on the moon and at the last supper, among many others. It adds to the growing criticism of the Philippine government's response to the disaster. The engineer who spotted the image sounds a note of caution on his blog: "Some say this is a very minor issue, but I see this as a nice sample of DPWH's lack of integrity."
