'The perfect option' - Manchester United fans respond to Erik ten Hag comments on his future

Manchester United supporters have provided a varied response after Erik ten Hag continued to downplay reports linking him with the Old Trafford dugout.

Having sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November, the Premier League side have yet to make a final decision on his permanent successor. Ralf Rangnick is still in interim charge and is poised to take up an advisory role at the end of the season - with efforts ongoing to find the club's next manager.

Moving forward, Ten Hag is understood to be the preferred candidate. United do have other options, though, such as Paris Saint-Germain coach Mauricio Pochettino.

In their search for a new manager, United are seemingly making progress after they crashed out of the Champions League against Atletico Madrid at the last-16 stage. It was a fate also suffered by both Ten Hag and Pochettino, with Ajax and PSG losing to Benfica and Real Madrid respectively.

Ten Hag was asked about his future during his latest press conference. However, the Dutchman was in no mood to give anything away.

He said: "I am focused on this season. All energy is being put in the current squad. I don't think about next season. I want to get the maximum out of the current season, we can still win two trophies."

Needless to say, his comments along with United making Ten Hag their top candidate have sparked debate on social media. Here's a selection of comments from those with Old Trafford connections.
