The Pep Guardiola comments about Man United and Arsenal that are damning for the Gunners

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has claimed that his side played better against Manchester United than they did against Arsenal.

That is despite City running out comfortable winners against Arsenal , with two goals from Kevin De Bruyne and one from Raheem Sterling helping the visitors to a 3-0 victory in north London.

It was a comprehensive win for the Premier League champions, with Arsenal barely testing Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson throughout the contest, as City claimed all three points.

However, Guardiola felt his side's performance against the Gunners was not as good as the one they put in against city rivals United, despite the Red Devils claiming a 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live after City's victory at the Emirates Stadium, Guardiola said: “We played much better against United.

"Against United we played much better and we had more chances than today."

The result in north London means Arsenal stay ninth in the Premier League table with 22 points from 17 games, with the Gunners seven points behind Chelsea in fourth, and 24 behind league leaders Liverpool.

The Gunners are also 13 points behind Manchester City, who currently sit third in the league table.
