American Honey and Transformers star Shia LaBeouf and Fifty Shades of Grey lead Dakota Johnson star in the acclaimed independent comedy The Peanut Butter Falcon, which has now released a colourful UK poster alongside a trailer.
The Peanut Butter Falcon is a modern Mark Twain-esque adventure focusing on a small-time outlaw turned unlikely coach (Shia LaBeouf) who joins forces with Zak, a young man with Down Syndrome on the run from the nursing home with dreams of becoming a professional wrestler and meeting his most beloved wrestling hero (Thomas Haden Church).
Dakota Johnson - fresh from her acclaimed turn in Suspiria - also features as Zak’s loving, but stubborn, carer, who is in hot pursuit of the young man chasing his dreams.
Oscar-nominee Bruce Dern, The Punisher himself Jon Bernthal, and Three Billboards star John Hawkes also star in the film.
Much praise has been aimed at the ensemble, especially the lead trio of LaBoeuf, Johnson, and newcomer Zach Gottsagen.
The film will be screened as part of the BFI London Film Festival 201, having previously won the esteemed audience award at the SXSW film festival.
LaBeouf also penned the script to the film Honey Boy, which is also showing at the BFI London Film Festival and is partially based on his own childhood experience.
The Peanut Butter Falcon is released in UK cinemas on October 18, 2019.
