Manchester United are reportedly set to hand Paul Pogba a bumper 'loyalty bonus' worth almost £4million - despite the Frenchman wanting to leave Old Trafford.
Pogba will be handed a a £3.78 million payment on July 1 less than a month after going public with his desire for a new challenge, according to The Sun .
The midfielder was a world record transfer when he joined United for £89m in 2016. He has been linked with a return to Juventus and also Real Madrid this summer.
And during a promotional trip to Japan at the weekend he admitted a "new challenge" could be good.
He said: "For me I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.
“After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well... I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else."
But today's report states that Pogba - under contract until 2021 - receives a loyalty payment from the Premier League club after every season as part of his current five-year contract, with the latest one due at the end of the month.
The publication states that the 2018 World Cup winner's latest bonus is set to increase from the £3.46m sum he received last year, according to figures released in 'Football Leaks: The Dirty Business of Football' two years ago.
Manchester United have declined to comment.
