Julian Edelman has spent all 12 years of his NFL career with the New England Patriots but that run came to an end on Monday when it was reported that the team released the wide receiver after a failed physical.
Edelman, who won three Super Bowls during his time in New England and made big plays in all of those wins, is still dealing with a knee injury that limited him to just six games last season.
ESPN’s Mike Reiss speculated that this move could just be a formality in a process that will lead to Edelman retiring from the NFL due to his knee injury.
While we don’t know what’s next for Edelman’s NFL future at the time of this writing, many NFL fans were quick to guess what could come next – a job with the Bucs.
