Today we’re speaking with Nataliia Zapara – an extraordinary nail artist whose name has become synonymous with the highest level of professionalism and creative excellence in the beauty industry. With 14 years of experience and numerous international awards, including the Nailympia Grand Prix, Nataliia has also achieved the highest, Level 3 accreditation by KSSK standards – a key topic of our conversation. She has kindly agreed to share her insights and experience in reaching this pinnacle of the industry.
Nataliia, very few professionals hold a KSSK accreditation, especially at the highest, third level. Could you clarify for our readers what the Beauty Salon Standards Committee is and why its accreditation is considered so prestigious in professional circles?
– KSSK, or the Beauty Salon Standards Committee, is an organization that sets international standards for quality and professionalism in the industry. Essentially, it’s a system for assessing and validating a professional’s skills at the highest level. KSSK accreditation is not just a formality – it’s a mark of belonging to the elite of the profession, a confirmation that your skills meet the strictest international requirements. Their mission is not only to standardize but also to foster the culture and raise the quality of services in our field – something I personally deeply value. Achieving Level 3 means the professional demonstrates exceptional knowledge and abilities, standing at the forefront of the industry.
You received this prestigious KSSK Level 3 accreditation in 2024. What does this achievement mean to you personally, and how has it influenced how clients and colleagues perceive you? Did you feel like you had reached a certain peak by gaining this global recognition?
– Without a doubt, receiving KSSK Level 3 was a major milestone for me. First and foremost, it’s a recognition of my years of experience and relentless pursuit of excellence. I’ve always viewed my work not just as a craft, but as an art form – a hobby that evolved into my life’s work. Accreditation of this level is an objective assessment of your abilities by recognized experts. For clients, I believe it serves as an additional trust signal. They don’t just see a talented artist, but a professional whose qualifications are confirmed at an international level. It definitely adds weight to your professional status, especially when you work as a VIP specialist.
KSSK accreditation requires demonstration of mastery across a wide range of disciplines – from classic manicures to complex gel sculpting and nail art. Your talent allowed you to confirm the highest level in several categories at once. Was this process challenging even for a professional of your extraordinary caliber?
– I wouldn’t call this path easy. While design and 3D sculpting are my personal passion, earning the highest level of accreditation requires flawless command of all aspects of the profession. You must demonstrate not only creativity but perfect technique, deep knowledge of materials, adherence to hygiene standards – everything that separates a true professional from an amateur. The KSSK exam is comprehensive. My 14 years of experience and continuous education definitely laid the foundation, but I still had to mobilize all my knowledge and skills. It’s a serious test of whether you meet the peak standards of the industry.
You have not only vast experience behind you but also training with the best, including internships in Switzerland and 10 international certifications. How critical was this background – and your credo of “always learning something new” – in achieving KSSK accreditation?
– The drive for improvement is my main motivator. Every new certificate, every course – especially international experiences like those in Switzerland – broadens your perspective and introduces you to cutting-edge techniques and approaches. You simply can’t afford to stay still in our fast-evolving field. KSSK accreditation is a natural result of this constant forward motion. I wouldn’t say I “broke through a wall” – it was more of a deliberate, step-by-step journey toward the goal, building up knowledge and honing my craft. Experience and learning are the tools that make achievements like this possible.
KSSK’s charter emphasizes not only technical mastery but also excellence in client service. As a VIP specialist in Los Angeles, how do you integrate these high standards into your daily practice? What sets your approach apart?
– Being a VIP artist means more than just flawless execution – it’s about offering a unique client experience. It’s about creating an atmosphere of trust and comfort. Of course, politeness and a warm demeanor are essential. But KSSK standards go further – it’s about anticipating your client’s needs, being able to offer a truly personalized solution based on a deep understanding of their style and desires, even when they come in with five different reference photos. It also means using top-tier materials, maintaining impeccable hygiene, and constantly improving your skills to offer the most current and highest-quality services. My pricing is premium, and that obligates me to deliver extraordinary service in every respect.
Professionals who reach the level of KSSK Level 3 or win global championships often become role models for others. Do you feel like a leader – perhaps a trailblazer – guiding others toward the top of the profession?
– I treat my work with love – it’s an art to me. Of course, winning at Nailympia and earning KSSK accreditation is gratifying and important; it’s proof to myself that I’m on the right path. If my example inspires someone, that’s wonderful. I always encourage my colleagues, especially those just starting out, to not be afraid to try, to compete, to keep learning. Maybe that’s a form of leadership – showing that hard work, passion, and continuous development can lead to international recognition.
Finally, Nataliia, what advice would you give to talented professionals who dream of top-level qualification and global recognition? What does it take to rise to the ranks of the world’s top nail experts?
– My main advice is: never stop learning and evolving. The industry doesn’t stand still – new materials, techniques, and trends are always emerging. Stay informed, attend workshops, keep acquiring knowledge. Absolutely take part in professional competitions – they’re not just a way to make a name for yourself, but also a powerful growth driver and a chance to measure yourself against top talents from other countries. And of course – believe in yourself and love what you do. Passion and perseverance – that’s what leads to truly extraordinary results.
