Schools in Wales reported just 42 Covid cases among staff and pupils in the past week.
Half of the 22 local education areas had no cases in schools at all, latest figures out today from Public Health Wales show.
In the six days to May 12 there were 42 cases among staff and pupils reported compared with an updated figure of 40 for last week and 44 the week before.
In the same period, 12 coronavirus cases were reported in further education colleges in five local authority areas.
All pupils aged 14 and over are being encouraged to take voluntary twice weekly rapid result lateral flow coronavirus tests. Staff are also being offered the tests.
The 42 cases reported among Wales’ 469,000 school pupils and 80,000 staff bring the total in schools since the academic year started in September to e 10,517 - 4,504 in staff and 6,013 in pupils.
Out of a total of 1,573 schools across Wales 80.6% schools have now had at least one Covid-19 case.

Publishing the figures PHW stressed that cases reported by schools and colleges do not mean infection took place in them.
It also said data is subject to change because there may be a lag in data due to the time taken between sample collection date and the return of a positive result.
