With the Tokyo Olympics well underway, people are already looking forward to the next Olympics which is due to take place in Paris in 2024.
Now we can’t possibly know what might happen in those games but the logo for the event has resurfaced on Twitter in recent days for no other reason than that it looks like a woman wearing lipstick with a very stylised haircut.

La médaille, la flamme, Marianne.
Voici le nouveau visage des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de #Paris2024
The medal, the flame, Marianne

The logo, released in 2019, actually pays tribute to Marianne, a symbol of the French Republic but Twitter being Twitter couldn’t resist comparing it to other famous haircuts and you know what? It’s actually pretty funny.
The Paris 2024 Olympics emblem has the eternal spirit of Carly Rae Jepsen. pic.twitter.com/fKu8aK9xcs

I can’t believe the Olympic Committee have confirmed that the Paris 2024 logo is heavily inspired by Penelope Redd.

Whoever designed the Paris Olympic logo is clearly a massive Twilight fan pic.twitter.com/w1Pa4K0rT2

It should also be pointed out that when bidding for the Olympics, Paris used a rather clever Eiffel Tower-logo to make the number 24 but for some reason went with the haircut one instead.
Feels like a good time to remind the timeline that Paris 2024 had literally the perfect logo that represented the number 24 and the Eiffel Tower, and then bombed it off for a logo that looks like a dating app for middle-aged women who yell at baristas. pic.twitter.com/KNLTirvmS0

Either way, at least Paris has already found a way to get people talking about their Olympics. Good to get a head start, we say.
