The Panthers gave Cam Newton an epic welcome for his pregame tunnel introduction

When the Carolina Panthers released Cam Newton ahead of the 2020 season, it felt absurd to imagine Newton ever playing for Carolina again. The breakup was ugly, and both parties seemed to move on for good.

Well, it didn’t even take two years for that situation to change.

The Panthers signed Newton this month to help fix a desperate quarterback situation following Sam Darnold’s injury. In his first game with Carolina, Newton made an immediate impact with two touchdowns against the Arizona Cardinals. And Sunday’s Week 11 matchup against the Washington Football Team was Newton’s first home game back with the Panthers.

The Panthers made sure to give Newton an MVP-caliber welcome home.

The Fox broadcast stuck with the player introductions for Newton, and we’re glad they did because the scene at Bank of America Stadium was awesome.

Newton took it all in and looked around as “Coming Home” played over the PA system. Then, he fired up the crowd as he took the field. He’d lead the Panthers to an opening-drive touchdown as well.

It’s like he never left.
