Greece international Tasos Hatzigiovanis reckons his old club Panathinaikos have blown a huge advantage by not hosting Rangers at their own stadium for the Champions League showdown.
Rangers face a tricky tie against the Athens side in the second qualifying round and have to play the second leg in Greece.
However, they are set to hold the game in the country's sprawling Olympic Stadium because their home ground - Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium - won't be ready in time after being completely refurbished for the new league season.
And Panathinaikos and Greece hero Hatzigiovanis, who won the Greek Cup with the club and now plays in Turkey, reckons they have missed a trick.
He said: "I want Panathinaikos to play Rangers at their true home - the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium.
"You can't play football at the Olympic Stadium. No one wants it and it won't be full.
"But the Apostolos Nikolaidis is a furnace.
"No one is getting through if the game was played there."
