The outstanding Wales player ratings as Man Utd star shines in stunning team display against Finland

Danny Ward 8

His quick distribution set Harry Wilson away, which preceded the Finnish red card. Commanded his area well and collected a couple of balls into the box. Could do nothing with Pukki's powerful finish from close range. and made a great save from Niko Hämäläinen's shot.

Chris Mepham 8

Another assured display from the defender, as we have come to expect. The back three worked so well for most of the night and each player played their part. Mepham looked his usual calm self throughout.

Joe Rodon 7

Slick and calm on the ball and strong and rugged in defence. A little blot on his card after Pukki get away from him for the goal, but on the whole impressive. Handed the captain's armband after Bale's departure.

James Lawrence 6

Lost his man early doors to allow Daniel O'Shaughnessy a huge chance, but then settled. Was hooked at half-time, though.

Connor Roberts 7

No complaints about this man's performance. Turning into a really consistent performer for both club and country and this game was no different. Thrives in that wing-back role.

Ethan Ampadu 6

A relatively quiet night for the usually combative midfielder, but that is perhaps more down to Wales' dominance. They did not need Ampadu's abrasion and bite in the middle of the park. Booked.

Joe Morrell 7

Looked busy in the heart of midfield and kept the play ticking along nicely. Sat deep and spread the play with a nice tempo. A solid outing from the midfielder.

Rhys Norrington-Davies 8

Sent in a couple of fierce crosses from that left byline, looked dangerous when he ran at his opposite number. Was always an option on the overlap for Wales and has a lovely, cultured left foot.

Gareth Bale 8

Missed a golden opportunity to score from point-blank range from Dan James' cross but minutes later produced a stunning assist for Wilson. Looked so bright, fashioning a number of chances for himself and troubling the keeper on a number of occasions.

Harry Wilson 8

Intelligent play from him forced Jere Uronen into bundling him over and getting sent off. Drilled home the opener from close range after a quick, intelligent run. So much positive play went through the forward in another top performance.

Daniel James 9 (star man)

Set up Gareth Bale for a glorious chance with a pinpoint cross in the first half. Hammered home Wales' second with a low backswing and a sledgehammer shot from range then finished off an incredible display by setting up Kieffer Moore late on. A top display.

SUBS

Kieffer Moore (on for J Lawrence 45) 7 - Showed his value defensively as much as anything in the second half. Made a couple of smart runs off the ball and then nodded home the third for good measure.

Tom Lawrence (on for Bale 61) 6 - A few neat passages of play but not a lot to write home about, really.

David Brooks (on for James 89) NA

Tyler Roberts (on for Wilson 89) NA

Chris Gunter (on for Morrell 90) NA - Came on late in the piece for his 99th cap.
