Most Welsh rugby fans have probably forgotten about him, but World Cup winner Will Greenwood certainly hasn't.
When Sam Lewis left the Ospreys for Worcester four years ago, cynics this side of the Severn Bridge may have expected him to fade into relative obscurity.
But the 28-year-old has just been named by former England and Lions centre Greenwood in a Gallagher Premiership team of the season.
Furthermore, Lewis, who began his senior career at Swansea RFC, has been paid some gushing tributes by the Sky pundit, who says he 'exemplifies everything we love about the game'.
In an article for the Telegraph , Greenwood names Lewis at openside flanker in his all-star select XV - yet another No.7 to add to the collection of high quality Welshmen in that position.
"Dan Thomas at Bristol has been sensational. Chris Robshaw played at his best at the back end of the season," said Greenwood.
"Tom Curry led the turnovers with 21, but played only 12 games.
"But I have loved watching Lewis play - so much fight in a frame that does not seem big enough to keep wanting more.
"Nose across his face . Battered every week. He never allows opponents to settle and has made 292 tackles with a success rate of 95.4%.
"Rugby is about having character and courage.
"Lewis exemplifies what we love about the game."
The emptiness felt by this remarkable Welsh sportswoman after a life in the spotlight stopped
Lewis requested to have his Ospreys contract terminated at the age of 24 even though he made 65 appearances for the them after making the step up from club to regional rugby in 2012.
It appears he has blossomed at Worcester, who are 10th in the English top flight this season with one game remaining.
Some of his team-mates describe him as the best player they've played with and his coaches are at a loss to explain why he hasn't played senior international rugby
