The other cut-off Everton need to beat as transfer deadline day looms

The summer transfer deadline is fast approaching, with clubs desperate to add the last bit of quality they can to their squad before the beginning of the 2019/20 campaign.

And, of course, Everton are no different.

The Blues have already had an extremely busy summer with five new signings - Jonas Lossl, Andre Gomes, Fabian Delph, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Moise Kean - already coming through the doors at Goodison Park.

The hard work isn't done there either, with Marco Silva still keen to bring a number of players into multiple positions in the squad, leaving Marcel Brands and the rest of the Everton board with much to do.

We all know by now that the transfer window shuts at 5pm on Thursday 8 August, but there's another deadline the Blues need to keep their eye on.

The club's Premier League campaign kicks off on Saturday with a trip to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace.

However, if new signings want to be involved in that match, they have to be registered by Everton before 12pm on Thursday.

Premier League rules dictate a club must register a new player at noon the day before a forthcoming round of fixtures - with the first match of the season being Liverpool's meeting with Norwich on Friday.

So, as it stands, Everton have less than 24 hours to get players over the line if they want to face Crystal Palace.
